Italian and Sail |

The project "Italian and sail" is a partnership between MADARI and Scuola Toscana.
It is now possible to join an Italian language and culture course with the Scuola Toscana teachers, not only in a classroom in Florence but also on a sailing boat and in the magical setting of Elba.
This is a unique occasion to improve your Italian,combining the wonderful Elba sea and the Florentine art.

Travel programme
The morning will be dedicated to the Italian course. In the afternoon, there will be the island visits with your teacher and short sailing lessons with the skipper. The guests of the sailing boat may, helped by teacher and skipper, cook characteristic and delicious Italian dishes, served with the best Tuscan wines. The teacher and the skipper are on board for the entire duration of the journey. It will therefore be possible to speak Italian outside the scheduled lessons as well, and to have continual support.
USEFUL SUGGESTIONS: We suggest you only bring essential items on board. Please however be sure to bring: sleeping bag, sun cream, bath towel and beach towel, comfortable shoes for the excursion to the island.

Elba
With its different landscapes, rich vegetation, history and crystal waters, Elba, the pearl of Tuscany, is an island waiting to be discovered. An ancient legend tells that, when the goddess Venus was born of the waves of the Tyrrhenian Sea, the jewel that she put on broke. The tiara and its gems fell into the water, becoming Elba and the other islands of Tuscany.
Information about the boat
Our sailing boats are equipped to entertain groups of 5 to 8 students: comfortable double berths, large dining room, internet access and wc with hot shower . The latest boat will be launched in March 2003, ready to sail for the "Italian and Sail" project.
