Internship

One of the most succesful courses at Scuola Toscana is the long duration course with Internship; it is meant for students who want to stay in Italy for at least six months. After three months of intensive Italian language course, they can start with an experience in a place of work of their choice.

It is the best way to learn the spoken language, effectively and rapidly, as you work with “real” Italian people who need to communicate to you in a very short time … moreover, you learn the culture, the deeply rooted values you find in the artisanal work.

MAKING BREAD

In this case our student Akiko wished to learn the art of making bread

We asked and talked with some shops – the thing is, nowadays not many bakeries make their bread, they buy it frozen from big firms, or they process frozen dough and then apply only the final cooking. There are only few places which still make the complete processing, mixing flour, water, etc. and cooking in a real oven.

Finally, we made our choice when the bakery we have been working together since many years offered to host our student. This is the place where we buy the bread for our tables at home and sometimes for groups of students who come to study to Scuola Toscana with the “all inclusive” formula.

This bakery is just 5 minutes walk from the school – they make many varieties of pane, panini, schiacciate, focacce, pizze, pizzette … and they like a lot to experiment and do new things - our student Akiko is learning how to do all these (delicious) specialities to do them in Japan !

"Buongiorno!
Venerdì scorso, dopo tre settimane a Firenze, ho finito i miei corsi a Scuola Toscana.

Grazie tanto e cordiali saluti, Ursula e Rüdiger (Germania)"

THREE REASONS BECAUSE YOU SHOULD STUDY ITALIAN

Scuola Toscana Logo

Ever thought about studying Italian language ? Many people did it succesfully, and they recommend it (list of references available); you should really follow their example.

Why ? Here the three main reasons (or, at least, three good reasons):

  1. To study Italian is a good excuse to make holidays in Italy.

As everyone knows, the best way to learn a language is to live in the country for some time, therefore if you decide to study Italian you have a great reason to come to Italy, and Italy is a fantastic place to be: the cities, the seaside, the art, the food, the wine... and if you come to Scuola Toscana you can have all this things together – just persuade your boss to pay for your language course at Scuola Toscana Firenze, and we will do the rest !

  2. To study Italian is a good way to socialize

Once upon a time, Italian was the language of trade, finance and business – fortunately, that era is over; nowadays people study Italian because they are interested in art, fashion, cooking, or just for fun. Therefore, if you study Italian you have high probabilities to be in company of nice people who learn the language with good intentions... plus, Italians notoriously like to talk with anybody, so you are sure you can use your Italian!

  3. To study Italian allows you to understand the Italian “way of life”

At least for the last 50 years Italy has been living in the middle of various crisis: economical crisis, social crisis, political crisis – but Italian are still among the happiest people on the planet. Learning Italian is the best way to discover the Italian way of life, which gives you unbeatable arms to survive in very dysfunctional communities and nightmarish bureaucratic environments (Scuola Toscana Firenze offers cours in Italian for business, by the way)

Courses at Scuola Toscana

Scuola Toscana LogoAccording to the time you have available, can attend one course of Italian language just for one week, and maybe make full use of your time with a very intensive course like the Florence Discovery or with a private Italian course.

If you decide to dedicate one or more months to the study of the Italian language, maybe you can relax a little more and choose the Gold course ore couple the study of Italian language with the History of Art courses or with one of the Cooking courses we offer.
